A friend of Tom’s once asked him, “How can music like this come from a guy from Porterville?” His reply, “Pretty sure it’s because I come from Porterville.”
Tom Richardson is a singer/songwriter based in Sonoma County, California. Raised on radio, his songs come from a folk/rock tradition with inputs that include Wolfman Jack’s R&B, the Bakersfield sound, and rock & roll from the Top 40. California born & raised, he has also spent time in New England and Ireland, and his audiences share glimpses of those places.
Though the years, Tom has written and performed his original songs in The Backstreet Conspiracy, Mind Garden, Saltson Trail and The Farallons. He is the recipient of numerous performing and songwriting awards including “Best Performer” and “Song of the Year” with West Coast Songwriters. Currently, he is a member of The Bluebyrds, playing tribute to his folk/rock roots throughout northern California.
